Team training at Interstellar
Watch our competitive athletes train with focus, strength, and teamwork.
Here you can watch a normal competitive team practice at our Santa Clara gym: conditioning, drills, and routine work across vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor. Our team athletes train alongside teammates who cheer for each other, with coaches giving technical corrections rep by rep. If your gymnast is thinking about competing in the Bay Area, this is the training environment they would join.
High expectations, high support
Our competitive program follows USA Gymnastics standards for athlete development: progressive skill progressions, consistent conditioning and a season plan built around each gymnast. Interstellar is known for developing some of the Bay Area's top talent, in a gym where teammates cheer for each other.
- • Multi-day training weeks with event-specific coaching
- • Daily strength, stretching and flexibility blocks built into every practice
- • Conditioning, shaping and mental preparation aligned with USAG development models
- • Competition season guidance for athletes and parents

Four events, one team
Our girls team competes through USA Gymnastics sanctioned programs and trains all four women's artistic events: vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise. Athletes progress from compulsory routines to optional and Xcel levels as their skills grow.
- • Vault: board work, blocking and safe landing mechanics
- • Uneven bars: swings, casts, circling skills and dismounts
- • Balance beam: acro series, leaps, turns and confident dismounts
- • Floor: tumbling passes, dance, leaps and routine presentation
The girls competitive season runs roughly from late fall through spring, with compulsory levels typically competing in the fall and optional and Xcel athletes competing into the spring championship season. Families receive a full meet calendar and season plan before the year begins.

Six events, total athleticism
Our boys team follows the USA Gymnastics men's program and trains all six Olympic events: floor exercise, pommel horse, still rings, vault, parallel bars, and high bar. Training emphasizes the strength and flexibility that boys gymnastics demands.
- • Floor: tumbling, strength holds and flexibility work
- • Pommel horse: circles, swings and body control
- • Still rings: press strength, swings and held positions
- • Vault: run speed, blocking and landing mechanics
- • Parallel bars: swings, support strength and dismounts
- • High bar: giants, release timing, pirouettes and flyaway dismounts
Every boys practice includes dedicated stretching and flexibility, core and upper-body strength conditioning, and swing mechanics. That foundation keeps athletes safe as skills progress toward competitive placement, with a boys season that typically runs through the winter and spring.

What team families say
We happily drive 30 minutes to Interstellar and it is absolutely worth it. The coaches give excellent attention to each child. Our kids have grown so much in just a few months.
The coach-to-student ratio is great, so kids get plenty of individual guidance. We love both the gym and ninja classes. Highly recommend.
My children come out of every class smiling and talking about what they learned. The coaches perfectly combine fun and serious physical training.
