Our story
About Interstellar Gymnastics
A Santa Clara gym built by an elite coach, for every kid who wants to try.

Oklahoma kid, Stanford coach, lifelong gymnastics nerd
Nate grew up in Oklahoma in a big, loud house full of brothers and sisters, where somebody was always flipping off something they probably shouldn't have been. He found gymnastics early and never really left. He competed, he chased skills, and he picked up the thing that still runs his gym today: progress comes from reps, patience, and coaches who actually pay attention.
That path took him to Stanford Gymnastics, where he worked at one of the most respected programs in the country alongside athletes operating at the very top of the sport. He is a certified coach and a certified judge, so he does not just teach a skill, he knows precisely how it gets scored, deduction by deduction, and he builds technique backward from there.
His work has also gone far outside the competitive lane. Over the years some of the most accomplished people in Silicon Valley have trained with Nate privately, and he has taught more than one of them their first backflip, then turned around and worked with their kids too. He never talks about who they are, because that is not the point. What matters is what happens in the gym: a grown adult flipping for the first time, a kid laughing through a drill they were scared of an hour earlier.
That is the message worth shouting: whether you are a founder, an adult beginner chasing a handstand, or a four-year-old terrified of the balance beam, you get the same coach, the same standards, and the same promise that gymnastics should be fun the whole way through.
Honestly, he is the biggest gymnastics nerd you will ever meet, and he takes that as a compliment. He reads the research, tracks how coaching philosophy evolves, and talks shop constantly with the people who shape it. Names like Sam Mikulak and Wes Haugensen are not posters on his wall, they are part of the community he has spent a career inside of.
Interstellar Gymnastics is what happened when he turned all of that into a business of his own. He built the gym he wished existed: elite-level coaching and technique, delivered in a room where a nervous four-year-old feels as welcome as a level 9. It has become one of the strongest programs in the Bay Area, and our athletes still funnel straight into SBG, a team with a long history of handling business at the highest levels of competition.
The philosophy has not changed since Oklahoma: every kid, every level. Strength, balance, agility, endurance and flexibility, taught through fun, drilled with real fundamentals.

Why families choose Interstellar
We happily drive 30 minutes to Interstellar and it is absolutely worth it. The coaches give excellent attention to each child. Our kids have grown so much in just a few months.
The coach-to-student ratio is great, so kids get plenty of individual guidance. We love both the gym and ninja classes. Highly recommend.
My children come out of every class smiling and talking about what they learned. The coaches perfectly combine fun and serious physical training.
